The look and feel of Gear drew a lot of inspiration from downtown Portland and Seattle in the early 00's, as well as a few specific neighborhoods in San Francisco. When plunking buildings down into the world if they weren't strictly from my imagination I went out of my way to look for bricks, wood side panels, and interesting shapes (bonus points if they looked rennovated a few times over). Hodgepodge, basically :)
